According to Khabar Khodro, the secretary of Iranian Automakers Union with notifying the effect of cooperation between two big automakers, Iran Khodro and Saipa, on cutting prices and expanding activities said, “In conditions where the liquidity situation of automakers is not good, the cooperation between two big automakers is a good idea and we hope it to be consequent.”
Ahmad Nematbakhsh in an interview with Khabar Khodro’s reporter said, “Absolutely the cooperation is completely different from merging two big automakers, as merging means to make one company out of two. In this way, the competition between two companies will be disappeared and it won’t be useful for society and consumers.”
He mentioned the proposal of Iran Khodro’s CEO on cooperation between Iran Khodro and Saipa and added, “Developing joint platform and using facilities in line with cooperation between companies will certainly help them to increase productions and offer various products. Certainly with this action the competition between companies will retain and its most important advantage is to increase production capacities of automakers which will result in cutting costs and increasing working capital of companies.”
The secretary of Iranian Automakers Union with notifying high costs for developing new platforms told, “If in line with cooperation between companies the costs of developing platforms are decreased it will cause less problems related to investment. So in conditions where the liquidity situation of automakers is not good the cooperation between two big automakers is a good idea.”
He admitted, “Always we have seen such an action between automakers in the world. For example, the joint venture of Renault and Nissan will result in more help and cooperation between them. Now these two are working separately and till they are not merged.”
Nematbakhsh also mentioned that before, companies were hesitating to such cooperation sans added, “Engineer Yeke Zare’ the new CEO of Iran Khodro has a good mood about cooperation between companies while before there was not such a condition.”
