Importing tire is decreased

According to Khabar Khodro, representative of Iran Tire Industry Association said, “According to agreement between Tire Association and Producers and Consumers Support Institute, it is a year that pricing tires of heavy duty vehicles is done according to criteria determined by Iran Tire Association.”

Mostafa Tanha in an interview with Khabar Khodro’s reporter said, “Determined criteria was about distributing tires and Toll Organization must introduce applicants that are willing to buy these tires in order to prevent shortage in market.”

He added, “With transferring the pricing process from Producers and Consumers Support Institute to this Association, prices will be determined according to price volatilities.”

About pricing tires of passenger cars he said, “Pricing this kind of tires is still due to Producers and Consumers Support Institute but this process has some problems that Tire Association tries to reduce prices according to facts.”

Tanha mentioned that only 3 percent of companies’ products are going to be exported and said, “If any company does not want to export its products or cannot to do so, it can transfer its share to other applicant companies.”

He said importing tires is reduced compared to last year and added, “This is because of not having trading exchange for importing tires. Last year, importers could have bought by trading exchange but now they should use free exchange for importing their commodities.”

As he said, Iran Tire Association is going to form a Permanent Standardization Committee in order to improve standards of locally made tires with help of National Standard Institute.
