Advantages of cooperation with small and fast companies in auto industry

According to Khabar Khodro, chief of Industry Committee of Commission of Industries and Mines in Parliament said, “Now there is a clear path in front of auto industry in strategic segment and long term plans. However, there are different approaches in this path and certainly none is advantageous for the others.”

Mehrdad Bazrpash in an interview with Khabar Khodro’s reporter mentioned to designing platform as an acceptable approach and said, “Although some are not satisfied with such an approach but with approach and first look and inviting strategic partners we could be present at global market and also with launching new platforms and vehicles for market answer the demand of inside market.”

He added, “Certainly today because of expert and powerful forces, technical science, technology, designing capabilities and science of parts making inside automakers are capable to dedicated platforms and launching new vehicles with national brand.”

“Of course, it is possible to use big companies for basic designs of vehicles but certainly other segments can be accomplished locally such as prototype making and mass production,” he said.

Bazrpash admitted, “In cooperation with foreign companies should not only focus on names and brands of big foreign automakers. In this process, small and fast companies could be advantageous, too. Certainly with such a cooperation and process we could be able to achieve most of the technologies that big automakers are not able to offer.”

Finally, he said, “Today, any cooperation with foreign companies for assembling is a disparagement to Iran’s auto industry because of improvements in science and technology in this industry.”
