Production of first Rana in Iraq

According to Khabar Khodro, in late Ordibehesht first Rana was built in Iran Khodro line up in Iraq and it would be a big step for presence of Iran Khodro in this country.

Assistant of export and international affairs in Iran Khodro said, “Production line of Iran Khodro in Iraq has the capacity to produce 10 units of company’s products according to this, production of 20000 units in each shifts would be planned for a year.”

Ali Elmi mentioned that more than 22000 units of Iran Khodro products are requested in Iraq and added, “There is need and in terms of industrial it is possible to do so but problems resulted from international sanctions make it a little difficult.”

About international sanctions he told, “These problems are reduced a little but still there are some limitations in international operations but we are trying to solve them by foreign partners and banks that are not in sanction list.”

Elmi remarked, “From beginning of this week we would start production in Iraq site according to determined plans in order to reach production of 1500 vehicles per month.”

He admitted, “Rana, Samand and Soren are productions that would be produced in Iraq and launched to its market. But we should consider that costumers’ needs are different there and also there are different rules.”

He reiterated, “Rana is designed from beginning according to Euro 4 standards and with anti-lock brakes and two airbags but costumers in Iraq do not want any of these three.”

Elmi said Chinese automakers are major rivals of Iran in Iraq market and added, “Chinese are so serious for being present in Iraq and if delay in competing them we would easily lost it.”
