New era of cooperation between Iran Khodro and Mercedes Benz

According to Khabar Khodro, new era of cooperation between Iran Khodro Industrial Group and Mercedes Benz has started.

The CEO of Setareh Iran Company has announced production of passenger vehicles of Mercedes Benz in Iran in near future and said, “The agreement of Iran Khodro with Mercedes Benz has been extended and by next year about 1500 to 2000 units of different passenger vehicles of Mercedes Benz would be imported to Iran.”

Ali Namakinhas also announced the use of Mercedes Benz products manufactured in Iran for taxi fleet and added, “Along with the start of local production, increasing the amount of parts’ localization would be considered.”

Chief of local sales of Mercedes Benz has also expressed his pleasure for restarting cooperation of this company with Iran Khodro and remarked, “After resolving sanctions, negotiations have started for restarting cooperation and Mercedes Benz again has started its relationship with Iran Khodro Industrial Group.”

Steffen Baumann mentioned to the good market in Iran and told, “We are willing to launch new models of Mercedes Benz including hybrid ones in Iran market.”

He reiterated, “For now, we would cooperate in passenger vehicles’ segment in CBU form but overall agreements for producing vehicles of Mercedes Benz in Iran is done and restart of producing Mercedes Benz products in Iran needs finalizing studies and would be done in accurate time.”

He added, “Previously, some models of Mercedes Benz including E-Class were produced in Iran, so considering this experience such action would be done in coming days.”
