Porsche Panamera Diesel going to L.A. Auto Show

According to KHABARKHODRO, After making its debut on the European auto market, the German based automaker Porsche has announced that the diesel version of the Panamera will be officially presented at the upcoming 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, which might mark the entry on the North American market of the luxurious vehicle where it will take on the Audi A7 and the Mercedes-Benz CLS, the only rivals of the brand which are offering diesel engines for its vehicles.

The Porsche Panamera Diesel comes equipped with a 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine which is developing a total output of 250 horsepower between 3.800 and 4.400 rpm and has a peak torque of 550 Nm available between 1.750 and 2.750, mated to an eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission fitted with the Stop/Start system which is sending power to the rear wheels.

Porsche says that the Panamera Diesel has an average fuel consumption of just 6.5 liters every 100 km and 172 g of CO2 emissions / km with standard tires, but if customers chose the low resistance tires, the fuel consumption goes down to 6.3 L / 100 km and the vehicle emits 167 g of CO2 / km. The Panamera Diesel can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 242 km/h.
