According to Khabar Khodro, the CEO of Iran Khodro Industrial Group said, “Considering policies of ministry of industry, car production in country by 1404 should reach to 3 million units and Iran Khodro Industrial Group has planned to have maximum market share.”
According to the reporter of Khabar Khodro, engineer YekeZare’ in a press conference told, “In year 92 the market share of Iran Khodro was 36 percent, which is now 54 to 56 percent. We are trying to increase our market share in Iran to 60 percent by year 1404.”
He added, “In year 1404 about 1800000 units of vehicles would be produced in Iran Khodro, about 60 percent of which would be produced with cooperation of foreign companies.”
He remarked, “The new agreement with Peugeot, which is based on 50 percent cooperation of both parts, would has 500 million euro of initial investment and would start with production of 15000 units, which would increase to 200000 units of vehicles. In addition, at first step capabilities of Iran Khodro would be used and after 3 or 4 years an individual site for production would be developed.”
He admitted, “New product of Peugeot would launch in market byend of next year and after one year we would reach 40 percent of self-sufficiency in production and 70 percent of localization.”
He reiterated, “Along with Peugeot, Mercedes Benz and Nissan have also leaved Iran but it is not a good decision to not to work with a company that has locked out us. Peugeot should have applied compensation package for its leaving so a compensation agreement is signed in France.”
YekeZare’ added, “The amount of compensation of Iran Khodro from Peugeot is 427600000 euro, 116 million euro of which is related to previous issues and 318600000 euro is for future issues.”
He admitted, “In coming weeks an agreement with Mercedes Benz would be signed with 51 and 49 partnership interest, based on which CBU models would launch by Setare Iran Company, commercial vehicles would be produced by Iran Khodro Diesel and local models would be produced by Iran Khodro Industrial Group so we can say that Mercedes Benz completely comes to Iran.”
He reiterated, “We are waiting for finalizing agreement of Saipa with Renault and then we would start cooperation with the company for new projects.”
He also announced the possibility of presence of a Japanese company in partners of Iran Khodro.
